Over the years, the DAA is very proud of its involvement through the following community projects:

In Memoriam (1970)
Recognition, posthumously, of individuals who have contributed in an exemplary manner to the sports community of Dorval. The DAA assumed responsibility for overseeing this award which was originally established by the Dorval Oldtimers’ Hockey League.

Grants to athletes (1973)
Financial assistance provided by way of grants, to assist local athletes competing in provincial, national and international competitions.

Sports Library (1990)
Sports related books, coaching manuals, tapes/DVDs, and such, purchased and donated to the Dorval Library where they are accessible to all members of the community.

Youth Trust Fund (1993)
A special fund that assists disadvantaged Dorval youths to participate in sports activities within the community. This program was originally started by minor baseball in memory of Rejean Archambault.

Volunteer Screening (1998)
The City of Dorval’s protocol of verifications to be completed on all volunteers (e.g., coaches, executive committee members, etc) was initiated by the DAA.

Sports Heritage Fund (2001)
A fund, initially created by City Council, to be used in extraordinary situations for special projects.

Athletic Recognition (2009/10)
The DAA is presently developing a project which will see local athletes publicly recognized for competing at elite levels, nationally and internationally. Further information on this will be made public as the program is finalized.
